Is Lack Of Traffic The Problem?
Do you know what the single biggest reason is that most people fail in their online business?
Most people think that it’s because they can't get enough traffic to their websites.
I completely understand why you might think this, because it's really S*!T not being able to get traffic to your website.
BUT…
The truth is it’s NOT a traffic problem.....
it's because they don't have the right process in place,
and this is a PERFECT example of the error in the thought process....
Story start…
I was talking to an affiliate this afternoon who had invested heavily in another affiliate program.
I've heard of the program before and heard mixed reviews, so I was rather interested in hearing about it straight from the horses mouth as it were.
The lady told me that she had joined the company in July of last year, had invested to the highest level, and had invested everything she had, including her retirement fund. This amounted to over $100,000. She had also invested in a mentorship program to the tune of $15,000.
"I have my own sales funnel, website, blog posts, YouTube channel. I post on Facebook. I have an email list of only 250 people, who don't open my emails. I use solo ads and have a budget of $200-$250 dollars a week"
"And how much have you earned in commissions so far?" I asked.
"Nothing", she replied, "I can't get traffic, and I haven't made any sales yet".
To say I was STUNNED would be an understatement (I even said a swear word!)....... I was talking to someone who had an advertising budget of up to $1000 per month, SHE ONLY HAD 250 ON HER EMAIL LIST, AND SHE HADN'T MADE A SINGLE SALE FOR 6 MONTHS!
I don't know if that was the conversation word for word, but you get the gist of it.
This lady was doing EVERYTHING she was taught to do. She was taking MASSIVE action. She even had a mentor who was giving her ongoing advice. And yet her business wasn't going anywhere.
I delved into this a little deeper and asked her what she thought the problem is.
"I don't know" she said, "I'm doing eveything they're telling me to do and it's just not working. I'm desperate. I haven't got anything else to invest. I have to make this work, but I don't know what else to do."
We chatted for a while and I reassured her that we would find a solution. That maybe she just needed a different perspective. That is wasn't her fault.
During our chat it transpired that, although she was using solo ads, she was only using solo ad vendors recommended by her mentor within the affiliate company. And that the rest of the time she had been focussing on 'free' or 'cheap' traffic, and that she wasn't spending any time on the SALES PROCESS that would actually make any traffic she did get worth something (i.e. commissions).
Incidentally, the problem with only using the sola ad vendors recommended by the affiliate company is that they're almost certainly recommending the same vendors to every other affiliate in the company, saturating the vendors email list with the same product advertising. So, when it comes to traffic, here's the deal... and you're gonna want to make a note.......
Traffic is ONLY as valuable as you make it.
The most appropriate metaphor I can think of is sand.
It looks nice, it's abundant, and on its own isn't worth anything.
However, with the right process you can turn it into something much more beautiful and vaLuable.
Traffic is EXACTLY the same. On its own, it's completely worthless.
But with the right SALES PROCESS it can be EXTREMELY valuable. You can also turn it into something that keeps on giving, over and over again.
To remind you, the affiliate I was talking to was focussing most of her efforts on 'free' or 'cheap' traffic, and the paid traffic was was completely saturated. Additionally, she was doing very little to improve her sales process.
So, the next question is....
What makes up a ROCK solid sales process?
One that will allow you the make the traffic as valuable as possible, and as a result be able to get as much traffic as you want, anytime you want?
One with right sales process where you can spend a dollar and make back $2 or $3 all day long?
Well, it all starts with your capture page (the page that turns your traffic into e-mail list subscribers)…
Your capture page needs to be tried and tested, and to convert at 40% plus. This is the door to your business and builds your email list; your single most valuable asset as an Internet Marketer.
And then your SALES PROCESS kicks in turning your traffic into something valuable. I'll reveal more about tomorrow.
With traffic the bottom line is this....
STOP wasting your time on 'free' and 'cheap' traffic, and make sure that you're using your chosen advertising method to the best of its ability. FOCUS YOUR EFFORTS on perfecting your capture page to give you the opportunity to turn your traffic into something so much more.
